Tam WORLD EXHIBIT
October 28, 2019
Now on its third year, the TAMWorld Roving Exhibit intensifies its awareness campaign by giving the public the opportunity to learn more about the endemic tamaraws. After touring various FEU campuses in 2017, the exhibit will now be displayed around commercial malls, terminals and ports, enabling more people to discover the world of tamaraws as part of the celebration of Tamaraw’s Month (P.D. 273 s. 2002 states, “Declaring the month of October of every year as a ‘Special month for the conservation and protection of the tamaraw in Mindoro’”)
The Exhibit features tamaraws and their habitat through photographs and artworks done by TAMBayani volunteers composed of artists from various universities and Art Association of Novaliches led by FEU Fine Arts alumni. These works of art also depict the Tau Buids and their products, nature and sceneries, fora and fauna. Information on the different conservation initiatives can be found here as well. It goes with our goal of making the Tamaraw a national pride and recognize the community of people who helped in increasing its population.
This event is in collaboration with Nicanor Reyes Memorial Foundation, FEU Alumni Relations Office, FEU Corporate Affairs Office, FEU President’s Committee on Culture, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines, Department of Tourism (Oriental and Occidental Mindoro), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Tamaraw Conservation Program (TCP), Mindoro Biodiversity Conservation Foundation Inc. (MBCFI) and Art Association of Novaliches.
